Care & Cleaning

How do I clean my blinds?

Aluminum Horizontal Blinds

Regular Cleaning
  • Lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.

Soil Removal
  • Sponge with a mild detergent and warm water solution and blot dry.

Cellular Shades and Vertical Cellular Shades

Regular Cleaning
  • Dust with a feather duster.
  • Lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment.

Soil Removal
  • Sponge with a mild detergent and warm water solution and blot dry. To avoid permanent creasing, use extra care when cleaning blackout fabrics.
  • Do not use strong detergents or spot removers. Dry cleaning is not recommended.
  • When dusting, vacuuming, and spot cleaning aren't enough and deeper cleaning is desired, ultrasonic or injection/extraction cleaning with professional blind cleaner are an option. Professional blind cleaners use a variety of methods to clean blinds and vary in their capabilities. While Springs Window Fashions knows that many of our window treatments can be safely cleaned using the appropriate ultrasonic or injection/extraction cleaning methods we cannot guarantee the outcome of any cleaning services provided by an independent company.
